No experience is required, only curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Who
we are

Rossella grew up in her mother’s studio, learning from her experience and philosophy, and has since brought her own energy and curiosity to Mediterraneart. She encourages students to try new things, explore their creativity, and go beyond what they thought they could do.
With a background in art and hospitality, Rossella combines practical knowledge with a playful approach, designing workshops and retreats that inspire learning while keeping it engaging and personal.
Creating has been a lifelong journey for Cristina, who works in oil, pencil, and overglaze ceramics, as ell as sculpturing, watercolour and painting on silk.

Her experience is wide and varied, and she brings patience, care, and a steady hand to every class.
Cristina lives by the principles of Waldorf philosophy, guiding students with calm and attention so they can develop their technique and confidence while finding their own style.
Our Story

Mediterraneart was founded 30 years ago by painter Cristina Contu. It began as her personal ceramic and art studio, but became something far greater — inspiring Rossella to carry forward her mother’s vision and replicate the studio in London, shaping her own life and practice along the way.
Today, Mediterraneart is dedicated to encouraging artistic growth through private and group lessons, workshops, and immersive retreats in Sardinia. Guided by Waldorf-inspired teaching methods, we support students to develop their technique, explore their creativity, and progress in a structured, small-group environment.
Our Values
Our Core Beliefs
At Mediterraneart, we believe in empowering individuals through art. Our commitment to creativity, community, and holistic learning guides our approach in every class and retreat, ensuring each participant develops not just skills but a deeper appreciation for artistic expression.
